Last Saturday I came down with Covid symptoms. First time ever (as far as I know). For the next few days, I wrote only a little. Result: got behind in my word count.
I’ve been off work all week, so I wrote all week and got ahead, right? Nope. Like I said, I wrote very little. I mostly just listened to podcasts and audio books. I also watched more Netflix than I want to admit.
But by Thursday, I felt almost normal. But how to get caught up?
My plan is to write 3,000 words a day. I did that for the past two days. If I do that today and tomorrow, I will be all caught up by Monday morning — in time to go back to work (at least that’s the plan).
Writing 3,000 words a day has been easier than I thought. Here’s my modus operandi: write 500 words, then do something else (exercise, fold laundry, etc). For me, writing 500 words takes about 20-30 minutes.
So I got to get back to writing. If you’re doing NaNoWriMo this year, best wishes.
