My writing process for NaNoWriMo 2022:
Step 1: Write one complete sentence summarizing each scene.
Step 2: Turn each sentence into a five sentence paragraph.
Step 3: Turn each paragraph into five paragraphs.
Step 4: Turn the five paragraphs into a narrative.
Now that I’ve reached step four, I’m converting everything to Scrivener. Up to this point, I wrote the first three steps in Google.docs. I’ve really come to love Google.docs because it is a perfect text writing software for writing rough drafts. I create a document called a ‘scratch pad’ so I don’t feel obligated to write something perfectly.
Here’s what my Scrivener setup looks like for my NaNoWriMo project:

But now that I’m in step four, the actual writing, Scrivener serves my purpose. How? Well, I need a split screen to look at my notes from step three to write the scene in its step four stage. Google.docs does not have split screen options.
So, I transferred everything over.
The weekend is coming up and I’m hoping to get 6,000 words in at least one of the days.
