Writing Life Update: January 2026

I mentioned in a recent blog entry that I wanted to narrow down my focus for AndrewMFriday.com. I’ve been meaning to write more about my writing progress, so here are my latest thoughts on my writing:

  • I’m almost done with my current draft of Normous, the next episode of my Consortium series. Normous takes place on a space station and is a cat-and-mouse game between my heroes and the bad guys. I think it’s going to need one or two more drafts, but after this draft is done, future drafts should go quickly.
  • I have the rest of my Consortium series outlined and hope to have Normous and the next episode, Parch, out by the end of 2026. There are two more episodes after that, which are tentatively called Siron and Ziggurat
  • I’ve received several 5-star reviews for The Consortium Saga: Omnibus on Goodreads. One reviewer wrote, “Loved this book! Couldn’t put it down.”
  • I’m happy to give a free ebook or print copy of The Consortium Saga: Omnibus to anyone who asks, but quantities are limited.
  • I recently reviewed two science fiction books—Tailored Realities by Brandon Sanderson and Detour by Jeff Rake and Rob Hart—on my AenigmaScenes site.
  • I also reviewed some fantasy novels: The Swan’s Daughter by Roshani Chokshi and am finishing a review of Rings of Fate by Melissa de la Cruz.
  • On my art history YouTube channel, Armchair Art Share, I talked about Etruscan art. It was a big hit on TikTok. My short video on it reached 1,300 hits, which is a lot for me. My extended version video, however, has only been watched 6 times. Oh, well.
  • I am also working on two other novels, a space opera and an urban fantasy.

That’s it for now. Have a good January and stay warm.
